What is a hybrid heating system, and why would you want one in your home?

A hybrid heating system is a home comfort system that uses both a heat pump and a furnace, and is especially useful in colder climates. This tag-team strategy helps reduce the use of fossil fuels throughout the year, increases efficiency and helps your home feel as comfortable as possible. In this type of system, the heat pump acts as the primary heat source, and can be up to three times more efficient than using a gas furnace alone. When colder weather hits, the system automatically switches to the furnace for heat, improving efficiency.
